Boring post…. other purses !

May 7, 2009 18 Comments

My sewing machine didn't want to sew even after I cleaned it. I think the needle I used to sew was too thin for the thickness of the sandwich I wanted to quilt so I ended up with a lot of skip stitches. After many headaches, much patience and a strong desire to throw the machine through the window, I replace the 90/14 needle with a 100/16 needle and the machine finally sewn well... It seems that … [Read more...]

After a few days of work for my shadow trapunto pattern, I felt the need to sew something. It seems that for me this is the season of bags. It seemed that my sewing machine need a good cleaning ( after I tried, without success, to do other things to … [Read more...]

But I don't have enough patience to sew a skirt ( I have patience to cut batting away for 2 weeks but not to sew a skirt for a few hours ).Since I discovered quilting I hate to sew clothes. But this is a good thing, where I could store so many clothes ? My house is full … [Read more...]

Pretty little things II

Here in Romania we are happy with simple things, like the possibility to buy ric-rac from our shops :) I made a few flowers, then a few little purses. I combined the flowers made using the tutorial from Betz White with yo-yos, I added piping, and I made plaited handles for the first time : It was fun to make them ! My sister Oana saw them and said : "I want to be a little girl … [Read more...]
