Welcome to my new blog

Hello World!

I am excited (please read: more like scared to death!) to share my new WordPress website with you! A new home for my blog and pattern shop was a necessity: a mobile friendly website, with a responsive design that can be seen on any device.

new-blog

With the exception of the theme of the website (which I purchased) and a few migration services, I did everything by myself for this website.

Since I have been a quilter in the last 16 years (and I lost the contact with the web programming world), it wasn’t easy to put this website together. Actually, it was the hardest thing I have ever made in my entire life.

Every single little step came with a lot of problems; I experimented everything: from paying a lot for bad services to very good support from free services, from agony to ecstasy! I don’t even remember how many times I was desperate and about to give up: fortunately, my love of quilting won in the end!

Now I am glad it is finished and if everything goes well, I will start sewing again!

What’s new?

I hope the new way the information is organized serves you better; I hope the navigation is easy and intuitive.

Follow my blog

If you have my old blog in the list of your favorite blogs to follow, you might want to change it and add the new website: http://getasquiltingstudio.com

I transferred the Bloglovin followers from the old blog to the new blog, so if you follow my blog on Bloglovin, you should see my new posts there, you don’t have to do anything.

Speed!

The time needed for a website to load in a browser is important and WordPress websites are slow.
I am paying an expensive hosting to make my website load fast and once I gain traffic, I will see how this goes.
I would appreciate your feedback about this!

While testing the website, I found out that not all the browers are the same and I switched from Firefox to Chrome (Internet Explorer is my last option!).

So, if you notice something strange, could you be so kind and send me a message (or leave a comment)?

Thank you for being  here, looking forward to sharing many wonderful new quilts and bags with you in the future.

  2. I’m not sure, if it is only my personal problem, but your home page is very unconvenient to read: the text is so light in colour that it is difficult to read. The same applies to this blog post and the comment form: only bold texts above are clear.

    1. Thank you for your feedback, Hannele. I don’t have this issue, the text is grey on white, I will try to make it darker; in the comment form it is a lighter grey, I will change that too.

  8. Geta – your new website is beautiful, congratulations! I have been out of the blogging reading and writing mode for quite sometime now but need to get in the habit again. Will have to take one blog at a time and go back to read all the posts so I don’t miss something important.
