It was the time to sew new bags for my sisters!
I made this bag for Nina 7 years ago, and she still wears it (what a bad sister she has!). The fabric is extremely faded, the straps have all the stitching broken, but she still wears it, because she loves those two deep pockets on the front, which are so easily accessible! She doesn’t care about the zippered pocket that all my bags have on the back (which keeps things more secure!), she wants two pockets on the front (not just one, like in this bag!).
So I made a new Amelie bag for her. She chose the fabric and I was happy to quilt it for her (because you remember, it’s so easy to wash a quilted bag).
The bag is really sturdy and stiff, due to the heavyweight fabric I chose to quilt on (the backing). And I used a heavyweight fabric from Ikea for lining too, which is always a good option for lining, in case the outer bags doesn’t have the desired stiffness.
NOTE to myself: double the stitching on the straps!
And what’s a bag without a matching pouch?
Tomorrow I will show the second one I made for the other sister; it’s funny to hear both (because they already saw them): “Mine is more beautiful than yours!”.
Bag Pattern: Amelie
Pouch Pattern: 30 Minute Pouch
Have a great weekend,

Love the pocket too!!! Geta, where did you get that adorable zipper on your little pouch? I’ve never seen zipper tapes like that. Sooo cute to “expose”

Michelle, it’s lace zipper; you could find them on Etsy or ebay, on big fabric stores (Joann) and I think in the USA even some quilt shops started to carry them. There are many colors and they come in a few different sizes (length).
