International Quilting Day

Here is how I am spending the International Quilting Day – stitching with 2 of my non-quilter sisters.
In about 2 weeks I think we will show you the top of our group quilt.

Geta, Oana and Nina; and the third black cat of the house.
My sisters call me “the boss”  of this project.  And as the boss I am allowed to stitch more and stitch the hardest parts. I am serious about this, see the proof below.

I can’t wear thimble; in fact, I tried one 12 years ago for hand quilting and did not enjoy it.

For now, I am happy with this  alternative 🙂

How are you spending this day ?

  1. That is a gorgeous quilt you are sitting on. I'll remember your trick next time I lose my thimble or leave it home by mistake.
    Happy Quilting!

  2. What a pretty quilt you and your sisters are lounging on while piecing! And what a wonderful way to pass the day together. I have been doing some embroidery and crocheting today, maybe some quilt blocks tomorrow.

  3. I love your grandmother's flower garden quilt. Did you do the quilting yourself? I am piecing one and starting to think about how I might quilt it. I would rather quilt it by machine than by hand. It looks like you are having fun!

  4. Fun to sew with your sisters. I love sewing with one of my sisters as well when I get the chance, though she lives far away. I agree with other commenters–the quilt you are sitting on is wonderful.
