I am sewing a few mini bags and I have to quilt on polka dot fabrics. On a few pieces I quilted stippling, then I wanted something different and I thought to join the dots on the fabric with stitching (I remember I did this as a child, with a pencil on paper, having fun creating different drawings). So here is a fun stitching, created without effort! Great free motion quilting … [Read more...]

Fossil Fern Fabric for Quilts and Bags
I have made so many quilts lately with the pretty Fossil Fern fabric (by Benartex) that I had to make a new order. I think this is one of the prettiest fabric collections of all time (there are more than 120 colors in this line). I recall my first fabric order in a quilt shop in the USA, about 16 years ago; I had to order from a quilt shop because I did not know how the fabric for quilting … [Read more...]
Quick Pillow Cover Tutorial
We all sew pillow covers, right? Maybe it's not as exciting as sewing a new quilt, but from time to time we have to sew ordinary things. So let's make this experience an extraordinary one and sew a beautiful pillow using this quick pillow cover tutorial. Pillow insert size: 16'' x 16'' Pillow cover size: approx 15'' x 15'' (I like to make the cover a little smaller than the insert). Fabric … [Read more...]
Free heart pattern for quilts, coasters, placemats
Hello friends! I noticed you love heart designs and patterns! And I thought to make a new design for you - but for a smaller and faster project. I don't … [Read more...]
Triple Pouch – opinions, please!
I love sewing pouches. I made many Little Wonders, Twice as Nice or sweet lace pouches. And now without too much thinking, I made a triple pouch. A very functional pouch, very spacious, all those three compartments have boxed bottom. But I have a problem with it: it looks like a big, UGLY box! My hubby thinks it is because of the solid fabric - faux suede. Maybe... Maybe I could make it … [Read more...]
Working with stencils
I am working with a stencil. And it is not for quilting. Do you guess what is it? I am so happy that I have this cutter on hand; I used it only a few times in 14 years, but it was a wise investment, it is great for making stencils, it's a time-saving tool. It's Olfa, it comes with three attachments for various spaces between the two blades. Now I am more than anxious to show you … [Read more...]
Quilting designs on fabric
Do you remember the Lollipops quilts I made last year? At the time I made many other designs and I just had to use a few. So I printed these ones at Spoonflower with the intention to make pillows. But pillows must be frequently washed and I want to keep the colors bright as long as possible so I have to use these for other projects, that don't need washing. Maybe I will laminate a few, … [Read more...]
