Hello everybody! How are you? I am glad to be home again. I loved Vienna and Robbie Williams but there is no place like home! I have many projects on the "to do" list but the most pressing was a gift for a friend. I have no idea if she likes red! I hope so! This is such a quick project- it took me four hours and more than one hour I pieced the squares. I forgot to sew a zippered pocket on the … [Read more...]
Cat and Dog Pouches
Our family is growing and growing. With more ... dogs! If you live in a civilized country where most dogs have families and they are not abandoned on the streets, then I ENVY you, badly! So naturally, we visit our veterinarians very often! More often than we visit human doctors! Our veterinarians are husband and wife and very nice people. And because I have these cat and dog prints in my … [Read more...]

Pouches Galore
If you remember the sweet little quilted pieces from last week, here is what they became! The darling prints are from the "Petal" collection by Tanya Whelan - I have the entire collection and can't wait to use more of it in the future. I ran out of fusible fleece so I used batting and I quilted everything - such nice texture and nice feel. These two pouches are spacious, they have boxed … [Read more...]
Tablet case- a first try!
Someone asked me to sew a tablet case. I followed this wonderful technique explained here by one of my Romanian friends (the link is a google translation). It was so quick and easy! I fused a heavyweight interfacing to the outside fabric and fusible fleece to the lining. I added a magnetic snap. But I made a mistake and I had to start over and the whole thing is now too small. I have to … [Read more...]
Notre Aventure Parisienne
There was a time (oh, long time ago!) when my French language was 10 times better than it is now my English. But I did not use it and I forgot probably 90% of what I knew. But this is not an impediment in loving the music of French singer Mylene Farmer. We are ready for our third trip to Paris to see her in concerts. We have tickets for 3 concerts. I know, you think we are crazy. Are we crazy … [Read more...]
Double Zippered Pouch Pattern
I just finished the pattern for the zippered pouch. I used the last 2 cherry prints. I am in love with this fabric collection (Sakura Park by Sentimental Studios for Moda) and I think I could not stitch something more beautiful from it. I made them in 3 different sizes. These ones are stitched with medium weight interfacing and they look gorgeous. Great to use it as a purse … [Read more...]
Huge Bag
A huge quilt requires a huge bag! This weekend my Romanian quilting friends have a meeting with our friendship quilt. They hand stitched parts of the quilt top and I think they are anxious to see it finished. A picture is just a picture, seeing the quilt in person is another story! This is a large scale print from Sun Kissed collection by Michele D'Amore for Benartex. The stripe fabric is … [Read more...]
2 in 1 Zippered Pouches
I made the 7th pouch; I think I fixed all the imperfections of the previous ones so I wrote a pattern for it. It's in the testing stage. The zippered pouch inside is completely stitched into the lining seam, so that it divides the inside space into three separate compartments. I stitched so many and now I am best friend with zippers. Because I have this fabric collection … [Read more...]
The one with cherries!
I think this is the sixth (since the first trial). I fused interfacing on this one (Vilene S320). It is not soft and puffy but it keeps its shape. And I have a new passion now: for zippers! Now I think I would eat some cherries! Geta … [Read more...]
