Pretty Zippered Pouches

April 12, 2015 4 Comments

I admit: on Friday evening at 8PM, after an exhausting day, the thought that I still have to sew two pouches was overwhelming! But once I started, the whole process was fun, quick and easy. The hardest thing that took me forever was to choose the fabric! I made these pouches for the kids of my future neighbors (hint, hint: we hope to move in our new house by the end of summer!). For a … [Read more...]

Triple Pouch – opinions, please!

April 9, 2015 24 Comments

I love sewing pouches. I made many Little Wonders, Twice as Nice or sweet lace pouches. And now without too much thinking, I made a triple pouch. A very functional pouch, very spacious, all those three compartments have boxed bottom. But I have a problem with it: it looks like a big, UGLY box! My hubby thinks it is because of the solid fabric - faux suede. Maybe... Maybe I could make it … [Read more...]

New Tote Bag and Shopping Bag Patterns

March 9, 2015 6 Comments

The new bag patterns are finally available! Here is my latest bag.The pretty fabric is Up Parasol by Heather Bailey. The pattern is so versatile and the large front panel is great for showing off beautiful fabrics or patterns. I made these bags for my sisters and they don't want to change them with any other bag they have. I tested it myself, one bag is mine. I understand why they … [Read more...]

New Tote Bag

February 13, 2015 15 Comments

At first, I thought it is boring to sew again this older pattern of mine- Danielle bag. I don't even remember how many Danielle bags I sewed in the last years! Now that it is finished, it is a lovely reminder of how beautiful and interesting this pattern is. What could be better for a bag (and us!) than a front pocket with easy access? All the fabric used is heavyweight cotton from Ikea. … [Read more...]

Shopping bags

January 29, 2015 11 Comments

I couldn't imagine that sewing shopping bags is so much fun!   I have now one more reason to look for beautiful home decor fabric. And of course, I had to make some bags from quilt weight cotton too. They don't have lining, so you can't use them for things that weight too much. I LOVE them because they don't take much space in a bag. One more bag (out of faux leather) on the … [Read more...]

Quick and Easy Lace zipper Pouch

December 8, 2014 6 Comments

I used the last two lace zippers! I have to make a new order! Do you remember these quick pouches I made some time ago? Only 30 minutes are needed for one pouch- and that includes the quilting! Sew with a home decor fabric - you don't need interfacing or quilting -  and you will finish the pouch in 20 minutes! No fancy zippers?  Regular zippers are fine too. Happy … [Read more...]

Sewing gifts for boys

October 31, 2014 5 Comments

Whenever I have to sew something for boys (and for men too), I am in trouble! These are gifts for my eight year godson and all the ideas came from his mother! I love this small "pocket". His mother explained me he needs something simple and small, to keep the keys, bus tickets and some money. And this was my idea for "simple"! Please ignore the horrible topstitching on the … [Read more...]

A lesson!

October 26, 2014 3 Comments

So I stitched these beautiful bags. They are made from quilting fabric and Decovil light interfacing. The lining is heavyweight fabric from Ikea. This is one of my older bag pattern, Chantal. I don't like pink but this combination with gingham is irresistible! I spent some time pressing every seam, after each step. And I pressed them again, in the end. I made the best I … [Read more...]

Remembering Paris

September 16, 2014 6 Comments

September again. With great pleasure I remember September of 2013. One year ago, I and my hubby loaded the car with some stuff and we headed to Paris. Three days on the road and we arrived there. We loved out adventure on the road, we loved Paris, the Mylene Farmer's concerts (and oh, the feeling when I found out that our quilt  won an award at Houston) but most of all I loved that all my three … [Read more...]
