If you are a subscriber to my newsletter, you have already seen this, but if this is your first visit, this is a lovely story!
The story of a fantastic quilt I made together with a group of my Romanian quilting friends and my three sisters : it won a prize in Houston! It’s been 10 years since we created that masterpiece.
Every so often, I get asked if there’s a pattern for this quilt or if I’ll make it, and my usual response has always been NO. But recently, I stumbled upon the photos of our entire journey back in 2013.
I was surprised to find that I had documented this experience with so many pictures. While browsing through the images, I didn’t remember the long hours of hand sewing or the hard work; instead, feelings of gratitude, excitement, and joy flooded back to me. I remembered the dedication, friendship, and the incredible teamwork.
I spent the last few days creating a short video out of those photos to share this amazing experience with all of the friends who were a part of this project and with you!
For you, this video illustrates all the significant steps in creating this quilt. But for us, it represents three to four months of our lives dedicated to this unique project.
While I used to believe I could never write a pattern for this quilt (I should make a new one), these days, I can’t help but wonder: what if I could help other quilters experience the same joy and fulfillment we did?
Here’s the video; I hope it brings a smile to your face and maybe even sparks some inspiration.
Happy sewing!

You should all be very proud of your achievements.
It is truly a stunning quilt.
I would have awarded you all the 1st Prize because of the work involved and the quilting complemented the quilt pattern so well.
Thankyou for the eye candy.

Congratulations! Your quilt is stunning! You’ve reminded me of a project I did with a group of friends from several different countries. It was a joy to do and each part reminds me of someone very special.I shall have to get that quilt out today and reminisce.
Thank you so much for sharing! The video was absolutely wonderful.

That certainly is an awesome video! It truly is inspiring! I have been reading your website for several years now, and have made several of you bag patterns. I just love your work1 I decided that being an engineer must be the real secret to successful design.
Thank you for putting the video out there (I love the music too!) and yes, I would love a small rendition of that quilt. It is fascinating.
God bless.
