Two Color Patchwork Quilt Blocks

April 29, 2015 9 Comments

Piecing octagons from triangles; the intricate design is a simple piecing technique repeated three times.

I was right that the two color version is beautiful! I posted pictures on Facebook and many quilters asked what pattern I used.
For this simple block,  this is the pattern – Loving Hugs. To this block I added then other two rows of triangles.

I started with 1” octagon.

The finished block measures 14”.

Then it was hard to stop! The beautiful fabric is from the Fusions collection from Robert Kaufman.

I thought to make a three-block table runner and two pillows.

A one-block quilt looks beautiful too.

Those are delightful! Individual blocks are a nice size for a cushion. 🙂

Wonderful two colors blocks! These fabrics are so nice in this block, every block must be admired, so I agree with your ideea, of pillows and table runner. Happy quilting!

Wow, great block Geta! Looks complicated until you break it down on how it was made.

I can see this as a round placemat. Or the smaller version as a mug rug/coaster. Very interesting and pretty.

Now I’m wondering exactly HOW these beauties were sewn together. Guess I’ll have to get the pattern!
