Addicted to Rainbow

7 bags in 7 different sizes! Click through to see how easy it is to print the pattern at a reduced scale and sew bags in any size you need.

I could add:  “to bags”, “to pretty little things”, “to polka dots”.
The initial idea was to stitch 3 miniature bags, then I remembered that I have a thing for rainbow, then I thought that 7 minis look better than 3 minis.   So, why not ?
This is my Danielle  bag pattern.

Miniature tote bags
I printed the templates of the mini Danielle bag at a reduced scale – in 7 different sizes.

So here there are!

miniature tote bags90%, 80%, 70% … 30% from the original mini bag.

I just noticed that the orange fabric has white dots;  and  I checked:  I don’t have one with orange dots.

The largest and the smallest.

The favorite color!

Other favorite colors.

So how mini they are ?

the biggest – 7 1/2” high
the smallest: 2” high

I hope this picture speaks better!

I wanted all to be the same, so they don’t have pockets on the lining – I could not add a pocket on the smallest one.

I fused a light to medium weight interfacing to fabric (Vilene S320).

It was too heavy for the smallest purse; a lesson I forgot: large bag –  heavyweight interfacing; small (tiny) bag – very lightweight interfacing.

  1. Oh, they are awesome! My blog feed of updates is way too slow! I was only working with a notification from 2 days ago. I'm so glad I can see them finished. They are truly worthy of a rainbow celebration. And yes, I am pulling out the pattern I bought several months ago. Maybe I can do this!

  2. You say you could not add an inside pocket on the smallest bag.
I am sure you can (you have made more complicated items), but nobody could put something in 🙂

  3. Gorgeous!! Beautiful bags and what fun 🙂 Congratulations too on your wedding anniversary. I hope you celebrated it in great style!
