Quilter’s Favorites

June 24, 2013 3 Comments

Here are a few tips shared by the Quilter’s Favorites participants. Click on the links to find out more.

Lori from The Crafty Bee’s Knees
Change your sewing needles often.  I think many people don’t realize how important it is to do this.
I agree!

Michelle loves her AccuQuilt Go! and Sizzix Big Shot. Click to see the creative ways she uses them.

Mary from Fleur de Lis Quilts
Re-purpose an old terry bathrobe for small, stuffed toys.  The texture
adds to the tactile feel of the toy and terry is very sturdy.

Debby from Debby Kratovil Quilts
Brilliant use of lightweight fusible interfacing; and it is not for bags! Click to learn more.

Silvia from In a Thread
Never work  when you are tired. You’ll work twice. So true!

Aylin
You have to see her beautiful kaleidoscope quilt. It’s only the top, I don’t know if she finished it.

I can’t finish this post without a lovely picture.

Zipper Pulls from Zipit on Etsy

Have a lovely sewing week,

I went to the International Quilt Show in Rosemont, IL on Friday and saw your beautiful quilt hanging. Recognized your style right away. Congratulations on being included in this fantastic display.

I agree about changing your needle. I change mine every 8 hours of sewing. Most people don't change their needles until it has broken on them or if they put another type of needle in for some reason. Most stitch problems can be solved by changing the needle or using the correct needle for the job! And if you jab a pin hard enough to bend it, you should probably change your needle as it's suffered from that jab as well.
    Love your blog!
