Quilting…

October 17, 2012 6 Comments

The quilt is basted!

These are the templates I found under the seam allowances after I thought I removed them all ! It was easy to detect them -I rubbed  my fingers over the surface of the top – you can feel where the texture is different and you can hear! But I am still wondering how quilted and washed paper would look like under the fabric! I hope I will not find out!

I baste my quilts on the floor-after a good wash.  But it takes me some time to prepare all the pieces- ironing the top and backing and sometimes piecing the batting. So when I am ready for basting, the floor is dirty again. But I use the lint roller to remove the threads, hair…and in seconds the floor is clean again.

The quilting!

Have a great day/night!

I am always amazed by your FMQing. You come up with such beautiful, intricate designs. Do you do it all on a standard sewing machine? How much time did the motif shown take? I can't wait to see your finished quilt. It's going to be stunning!
