Hello Houston!

No, I am not going to Houston.
But my latest shadow trapunto quilt will be there, for a few days, in November.
It has been accepted into the 2012 International Quilt Festival.

I  named it A World of Many Colors
(I know, not too inspired! I am engineer!)

I am so happy, since I made  it, it stays rolled on top of a closet. I can’t even think to hang it on a wall, because of the cats!
Now, to finish hand stitching the hanging sleeve!
Are you going to Houston ?

  1. Your cuilt deserves to be at Huston. It is so beautiful.
And no I am not going to Huston. I would love to, but I live in Denmark, so the teip would take a wail and can not leave my students that long

  2. The quilt is gorgeous and I say Congratulations on being juried in! I heard only 54% of the quilts sent in were juried in this year!

If you don't want to hang it, send it to me after the show and I will hang it next to "The Angel" that I won from Sharon Schamber. 🙂

  3. Oh I'm so excited it got accepted! It is a stunning quilt!

I am NOT going to Houston, and am so so sad. My entire family is from Texas and my grandmother-in-law recently started quilting and asked me to make the trip down to take some classes with her. I had to decline, because my husband and I found out this awesome bonding with Nan/quilting experience would cost over $1000… It is tough to justify that vacation cost if I'm going without him.

After seeing the list of teachers, I am SO sad I am missing out. And now I'm missing a chance to see your quilt too 🙁

  4. I am doing a happy dance for you – so glad it got accepted for the competition. I wish I could attend to see it in person though. (sad face for me)

  9. Your quilt is so beautiful. I'm sure it will be really appreciated in Houston, especially for all the work that's gone into it. It's a shame you have to keep it away from the cats. Ali x
