Inspired by a Baby Boy

I am happy and excited to share with you my latest quilt! I enjoyed so much working on it – no wonder- I made it for Alex, my 8-month-old nephew.

He can’t yet build himself little castles from wooden blocks,

so here are the 12 little castles I built for him.

I started cutting and piecing the blocks thinking that this step will take me forever because all the blocks are different and I was surprised by how quickly I finished the piecing -in a day.

I love everything about this quilt!

  – the solid fabric, the color palette –
  – the design of the blocks –

– the fabulous textured quilting given by the cotton batting- something I don’t use every day so that I can appreciate it even more –

– the wide binding (almost 3/4”) –
I am glad that I took the time to piece it from many colors – it’s great!

The quilting was fun, I mean FUN! And easy! SUPER-EASY!
