My weekend

August 3, 2010 5 Comments

Hi everyone,

I hope you spent a wonderful weekend, mine wasn’t wonderful at all.
After I made a beautiful quilting on the center of a quilt, on Friday evening I started to quilt the background.
I will never take decisions on Friday evening ! Especially after dinner ! After a half hour of work I decided I don’t like the quilting so I started to rip out the stitches. But it took me 8 hours to remove all the stitching !

I am still happy because I don’t use too often the seam ripper for such things. It happened the second time.

A few years ago I made these two quilts. And on both I placed a few patches wrong. You can see below (sorry for the bad pictures).

It was the first time I worked with a metallic batik and I was so excited that I did not pay attention the way I pieced the blocks (there can’t be another reason)!

Unfortunately, this one is still an UFO…

Have a wonderful day !

Oh Geta, don't you just hate it when that stuff happens? I too have spent hours and hours picking out micro-stippling. Not fun at all!

Stii cum se spune despre anumite bijuterii sau timbre ca au unele imperfectiuni care le fac mai valoroase? Asa este si cu quilturile tale, sunt de colectie! Totusi nu stiu de ce nu ti-a placut quiltingul?!

It really is unfair that it takes so much longer to pick the stitches out than it took to put them in…
Times like that make me wish for a magic wand!
