Baby quilt

Delivered !

It measures 45″x45″.

Pictures of the quilt top here
and here

Initially, I wanted to quilt just the background but the largest pieces left unquilted did not look nice so I had to quilt them all. I took the pictures after the quilt was washed.

I don’t use too often cotton batting, but in this way I can appreciate it even more, right ?
I love the look of the quilting and the texture of the quilt after washing.

I hope Adelina will enjoy this quilt for many years.

The back – just plain white cotton fabric.
At first, I wanted to piece the backing from the same fabrics used for the front, but I cut wrong the first piece and I gave up.
And the truth is no matter how much fabric I have, every piece seams to be too pretty (and too expensive) for using on the back. I have the same problem in choosing the fabric for binding !
I have to work more to solve this problem. In the end, it’s just fabric.

  1. This is just beautiful!! Love your quilting on this – gives me much inspiration! May I ask why you don't use cotton batting often? That's all I've used so I'm just wondering if I'm missing out on using a different type of batting?

  2. Beautiful quilt and lovely quilting. It is funny that we have such a hard time cutting up our favorite fabrics and that is what we bought them for in the first place.

  3. Wonderful quilt, Geta. I have only just found your site. It is full of great ideas. I visited Brasov on holiday a few years ago when I was hiking in the Carpathians. Romania is a beautiful country and deserves some beautiful quilts.
