What do you have to do if you want to participate ?
There are a few questions at the end of this blog post. You have to write a blog post, answering those questions; answer as
many or as few as you want  in as little or as much detail as you would
like; illustrate it with pictures, if you want.
Publish your post on May 10th or any time until May 16th.
On May 10th  I will start a linky party and you have to link your post to the party.

Non-Bloggers
If you don’t have a blog but you want to participate, please email me your
thoughts; my email is in the right side bar. Or leave a comment. I will be happy to add your
tips on a special page; I will link that page to the party too.

Quilter’s Favorites Pinterest Board
If you want to pin on this collective board, please email me (the address in in the right side bar) and I will give you access to the board. Please put in the subject line – “Access to QF Pinterest board”

Formating the blog post
When it is possible, I will use pictures to illustrate what I want to say and I will format my post this way, it is easy to read: the question is bold,  the answer is in regular font (with some highlights) and I use bullets when I have a list.
If you think it is a good idea, I would be grateful if you could do the same.

List a few of your favorite quilting notions

  • Thread Snips – I can’t live without them!
I use them all the time: for cutting the batting away for trapunto, trimming the thread while piecing, cleaning the edge of the quilt before binding, during the machine quilting. I rarely use my large scissors.
  • Creative Grids rulers– non-slip rulers with fine black and white marking ( so easy to read) and turn a round patented feature.
I have a long 6.5”x24.5” ruler, and a 12.5” square  ruler. It’s all I need for the basic cutting; I bought 2 sets in 12 years! Soon I have to buy the third set, I hardly see the marking lines.
  • Magnetic Pincushion  -I just had to add this, because I bought my first magnetic pincushion  10 years after I started quilting; you really need one.
  • Lint roller – a big help if you share your quilting space with your cats/dogs.

Below is the list with the questions. Thank you in advance to all of you who want to participate. We all are anxious to learning from you!

We all feel sometimes uninspired, or may have ideas which are not
the best, and they may result in a lot of work for projects which we
finally hate; or we may imagine shortcuts that finally give us only
headaches instead of making our work easier.

If this happened to you, please share your failure lessons to
encourage the rest of us that we’re not alone and quilting is worth the
hard lessons along the way).

If there is something else you would like to share with us,
please do it. And please tell us a little about you, we would love to
know you better.
