I’m done too! Yesterday I stitched for almost 12 hours to finish it.
How fun it was to stitch the flowers and how boring to stitch the pebbles.
It’s now in the washing machine.
With all the large seam allowances and cotton batting – it weights a lot. I knew that this will happen but I did not have other choices.
I love the cotton batting because the fabric sticks so nicely to it, making the quilting easier.
A friend of mine gave me a piece of wool batting, I would have loved to use it, but it was 3-4” smaller.
Do you know another type of batting, that allows the fabric to stick on it and doesn’t weight so much ?
Maybe I should experiment more with batting.
I will post pictures of the finished quilt on Friday, it’s Blogger’s Quilt Festival again.
Beautiful! Can't wait to see the finished quilt.
It looks lovely from the back, lots of work! Have you tried bamboo batting? It's SO soft, and fabric sticks some to it also.
THAT is a beautiful wholecloth!! and yes, pebbles are VERY boring! 🙂
Your quilting is so beautiful! I cannot wait to see it when you are finished washing it!!! 🙂
WOW!! Your quilting is lovely! REcently, an editor from Kansas City Star Books told our guild that she liked silk batting for its weight and drape. Have no idea on the cost.
Can't wait to see the front as the back is beautiful!
Geta, es precioso!!!
WOW fantastisk!!!!
Absolutely beautiful!
Speedy Gonzales is your name! (Do you remember the cartoon character?)
Stunning, as usual! Can't wait to see the finished product!
You made two wonderful quilts in one. Every side is as usual at you, a splendid surprise. Love it!
