A New Beginning

August 23, 2011 9 Comments

My next quilt (for my 21 year nephew) will be black.
I don’t like black color. Here in Romania when someone dies the familly usually wear black clothes for a few months. I think that is why I have such an aversion to black color. I don’t have too many black clothes.
But I hope I will love this quilt –  I added many happy colors! Still there will be a lot of black.

It will be baautiful. Anything you make is, Geta.
My youngest son wants black and gray. I looked at him and said expect some color, too. lol I'm adding white and red. Maybe something else.

But your beautiful kitty says "Oh, I do like black; it looks so good on me!"

The colorful array you have laid out there should lift the black right up so the quilt doesn't look gloomy.

This should be lovely with the colors you pulled and I see The Assistant is offering much appreciated input! 🙂 *karendianne.

i have loved all of the beautiful quilts you have made. i am sure the one for your nephew will be just as wonderful. sometimes, you will see that the black makes the other colors in the quilt more vivid (bright and wonderful).
thank you for sharing all your wonderful works with us!

I'm sure this will be beautiful! I like your helper! I have two cats, and they help me all the time, too!

I didn't realise you were in Romania! I learned a little of the language a few years ago and visited Bucharest one very rainy November in 2004!

I'm just finishing my very first quilt, so I get lots of ideas and tips from your blog! 🙂

And I have a helper cat too! Although she is better at chasing the thread rather than anything constructive!

I didn't like black as well but be warned it can become so addictive especially with those bright and beautiful colors you added to it. Would love to see the end result.

Jó lett ez a fekete takaró. Nekem is ilyen fekete cicám van, ugyanilyen. Gyönyörűek ezek a hegyek is. Tavaly voltam én is Erdélyben. Lenyűgöző.
