2 in 1 quilt

So, this is my quilt of (too) many colors! You can see here 9 rows, the top has 13 rows.

– 90″x90″  ( what size is this ? I made it 10″ wider that I planned!);
– 163 blocks;
– It was a challenge to make it!
All the steps in making this pattern are time consuming and cutting the triangles from strips and pressing are the most annoying ones.
I pieced the top in vertical rows and I worked with half of blocks  – I don’t like at all this. And pressing long seams – the worst thing!
But I think all the effort worth it.
Could you see this pattern in 3D? Look at this picture below…
and look at this picture below… Could you see the difference ?
You can see it better in this picture below. This is my “2 in 1” quilt. The same pattern – two different designs. I just have to rotate it 180 degrees.
I love it, even if the piecing is far away from perfect. I hope the quilting will hide all the imperfections and will make it even more beautiful!

  1. I can absolutely see the 3d effect. It's fantastic. This is a real eye-catching quilt, Geta. You're always ALWAYS taking me to a new hight of visual delight. You just did it again. I hope you're so proud! Warmly, *karendianne.

  2. You are incredible. I love the 3D effect! It took me until almost the last picture to be able to see the original triangles. Amazing! I love your work. You are so inspiring. Well done.

  3. Beautiful. Looks like it would have been easier to use short strips since the opposing triangles in the hexagon are opposites (base of dark blue, top of light blue opposite of a base of light blue and top of dark blue). Exquisite work!
