The quilt for my hubby

He waited for it for 10 years !

But the waiting was worth it !

I used cotton batting, I love the look of the quilts made with cotton batting after washing .

The quilt is huge, 80×92 (2×2.3 m)

and stitching all those pebbles took me 3 days,

and a lot of thread. I used the three green spools of King Tut.

It was very easy to quilt the square following the stripes in fabric.

For the back I used a green poplin which is thinner than the chiffon I usually use for backing. The batting was thin too, still the quilt weights a lot…

We are waiting for fall to use the quilt. Now here is a hot weather, it wasn’t a pleasure at all to keep the quilt in my lap for three days until I finished it.

    I loved that tutorial when you posted it and I LOVE LOVE LOVE your husbands quilt.
    Green is my favourite colour and I am amazed at how beautiful it has turned out.
    I cannot imagine doing all those pebbles though.

    Si cum este vorba despre ziua de nastere a sotului tau, un om special, care am inteles ca este mai mult decat un sot, este un prieten adevarat,te rog sa-i transmiti un "La multi ani" si din partea mea. Ii doresc sa fie sanatos si la randu-i, sa fie pentru totdeauna "invelit" cu dragoste.

    It is stunning, and I never guessed that the blocks were made for a striped fabric !

    I assumed that you had pieced all of the different strips !

    Wow, your pebble quilting is just so perfect !
    I wish you could come over and teach me !
