A little wholecloth quilt

I LOVE this little wholecloth quilt.
I think it was the time to make one, since I love so much playing with thread.

So here is a first try.

It all started with a good water soluble marker.

Everything until now was stitched with the walking foot. At this stage I thought it is lovely, but what if I add more quilting? I washed the piece and took some pictures (just to play safe)!

And I switched to free motion quilting.

Forgot to say: this measures 14”, so the quilting is… like this!

Then I thought to texture more the background and I added some feathers  (that, at this size, look like pebbles).

It was such a fun experience, now I have new plans for a similar (but more complex) designs.
