Sewing for a little girl

For a 9-year little girl.
This is an improved version of this portfolio.
The front.

The back.

Her mother told me that she loves blue, so I inserted some piping (just strips without cord) into the beautiful fabric – “Wrenly” by valori Wells.

There are 2 big pocketsĀ  – one with zipper (oops, it’s black!),

and the other secured with Velcro.

Slots for pens and a little pocket for a little notebook.

One more pocket, with this closure with a flap (and unfortunately, ugly buttons; I wanted flat buttons and these ones were the best).

This fabric really doesn’t needĀ  to be embellished with yo-yos, still I added one, to hide the stitching of Velcro(!).

I love it!

It took an incredible amount of fabric. That zippered pocket was the worst, but I love it.
Anyway, I thought of a new version, still with lots of pockets and zippers, but hopefully with less fabric.

How is your sewing day ?
