HELLO!
“Hello” is a new fabric line by Susan Emory for Michael Miller Fabrics. A blog hop that features this line started a few days ago and I am part of it, too. Today is my turn – I am excited to share my project with you!
But first, you should check out the fun prints of this collection here. I know, I know – hard to choose a favorite!
For my quilt I used the letter print and what could you do with letters? Create messages, of course, and motivational/inspirational/uplifting words are my favorites!
So here is my little quilt!
Making this quilt was so much fun!
First, I cut out the desired letters and then I glued them on a background fabric.

Then I made the quilt sandwich and I quilted it.
I love the raw edge applique technique – done with fusible web or glue – it’s so fast!
I quilted the whole quilt, from start to finish, with Aurifil 50wt.

To make the letters pop, you have to heavily quilt around each letter. Here is how I quilted mine – I used a little trick to keep the fraying minimal.
I will share it in a future post (subscribe to my blog or newsletter if you want to learn more about it).

The ransom letters in this fabric collection is one of my favorites! Using them to write out a great quote like yours in genius! The heavy quilting really adds to the pop of the letters and your bubbles are so cute too! I’m looking forward to any more tips you have on this quilting. Great work!
