Pleated trees and reversible fabric baskets
SIMPLE ways to add charm to the presents for your loved ones!
Quick. Easy. Fun.
I love to add texture to my sewing projects.
These little pieces (made with the folded strips patterns- click here for details) are so fun to sew, the pieces are so delicate and special - I could make one every time I have beautiful fabrics available...

This year I wanted to explore new techniques that create texture so what do you think about this?

A pleated tree
A simple and easy technique that once you learn it, you can apply it on many other projects.

I made two panels and turned them into a bag, but you can finish your paneI into a table centerpiece, a pillow or a wall hanging.

Baskets turned into a little bags
Add strap(s), even plastic snaps and turn the basket into a pretty little bag - a little girl will adore it!

Reversible!
And a different look...

...
as I promised!

Design #2
So simple, so easy to stitch!

This is the piece required for each of these designs.

What is so special about these baskets?
After you prepare the piece (10 minutes!), this is what you have to do: some marking, 4 seams, some folding, a little pressing and a little hot glue (or stitching) - you will spend about 10 minutes to do it all!
But that's not all! The next part is even better!
The way each basket is assembled gives it not only a beautiful shape and beautiful details, it also strengthens the basket, giving it stability. At corners and on two sides there are multiple layers of interfaced fabric and they create these advantages.
PERFECT shape with minimal effort!

Turned on the other side
