2 in 1 Zippered Pouches

July 18, 2013 18 Comments

I made the 7th pouch; I think I fixed all the imperfections of the previous ones so I wrote a pattern for it. It's in the testing stage. The zippered pouch inside is completely stitched into the lining seam, so that it divides the inside space into three separate compartments. I stitched so many and now I am best friend with zippers. Because I have this fabric collection … [Read more...]

The one with cherries!

July 10, 2013 7 Comments

I think this is the sixth (since the first trial). I fused interfacing on this one (Vilene S320). It is not soft and puffy but it keeps its shape. And I have a new passion now: for zippers! Now I think I would eat some cherries! Geta … [Read more...]

Zippered pouch

July 9, 2013 6 Comments

I am still perfecting the pattern for the zippered pouch with zippered pocket divider. Every time I stitch one, I find something that needs improvement. I love the wide bottom and the fusible fleece fused onto fabric gives the perfect body. Now I have to stitch some cherries -  from the same collection - Sakura Park by Sentimental Studios for Moda. Geta Edited to add: If you want … [Read more...]

Mini bags – work in progress

July 4, 2013 7 Comments

The front of my 7 little purses - in rainbow colors. The smallest one! Can you remove the bed of your sewing machine to get a free arm ? It's a big help when you have to stitch in the round -  like the hem of a sleeve or when you have to attach the lining to a bag. I use the free arm all the time when I stitch my bags- no matter the size of the bag. But what if the piece is too small … [Read more...]

Addicted to Colors

July 2, 2013 4 Comments

I saw  this picture on Pinterest; it reminds me by my color addiction. I don't quilt because I love fabric or patterns or because I love to sew; primarily I quilt because I love colors. I suppose most of the quilters are like me: addicted to colors. So I have a fun idea and I think you will like it; more about it soon. Meanwhile, because I love colors, I love tiny things, I love making … [Read more...]

Zippered Pouch

May 27, 2013 22 Comments

Today I made a zippered pouch. It looks like an ordinary pouch, but it is not. Because there is a zippered pocket inside. And it is more than a zippered pocket.   It is a pocket divider. It is stitched into the bottom and side seams, dividing the lining space into 3 compartments. I want to put pocket dividers in my next bags, so I thought to try my hand first on a smaller … [Read more...]

Romantic Things

Tickets to 3 Mylene Farmer concerts-  in Paris! "Sakura Park" fabric collection by Sentimental Studios for Moda. Bad light for pictures -  sorry I can't redo them; the big monster quilt is hanging to dry in front of the window. I have 2 bundles - 42 fat quarters, I hope it is enough to make 4 small messenger bags for me and my 3 sisters to take to Paris. And my … [Read more...]

Vintage Paper Dolls

January 21, 2013 13 Comments

I have a new obsession: dolls! Kokeshi dolls, Kimmi dolls, any dolls. I spent days on Internet browsing doll designs and wasn't happy with the limited doll fabrics I found. So in the future I think I will print some dolls on Spoonflower. Then I found these vintage paper dolls on Etsy - also printed on Spoonflower. I paid a small fortune for them, but I couldn't help myself! Too cute not to have … [Read more...]

New Fabric Boxes…

in Christmas fabrics and with generous space inside. The boxes are taller in the center and the height decreases on the outside edges. It is the 120 degree sister of the version below, made last year. I am still thinking of other boxes! Have a great sewing day, Geta … [Read more...]
