I think this is one of the most interesting bag I have ever made. And one of the most beautiful too. Here is my new faux leather woven bag, this time in argyle pattern. I just had to make one more woven bag! After many patchwork bag, now I love weaving strips of faux leather. When I started it I thought it could be the only one so I chose the favorite colors of my sister Nina. This … [Read more...]
Faux leather woven bag
I am so excited to share with you my latest creation. Isn't the birthday of a friend a good reason to try something new? Something cool! I loved so much this bag in argyle pattern I made last year and I wanted to try something similar. Since that bag isn't the easiest thing I sewed I decided that it is the time for something more simple. And so my new woven bag was born. It's actually a … [Read more...]
New Tote Bag
At first, I thought it is boring to sew again this older pattern of mine- Danielle bag. I don't even remember how many Danielle bags I sewed in the last years! Now that it is finished, it is a lovely reminder of how beautiful and interesting this pattern is. What could be better for a bag (and us!) than a front pocket with easy access? All the fabric used is heavyweight cotton from Ikea. … [Read more...]
Faux Leather Shopping Bags
So here is the faux leather shopping bag. Because the wrong side of faux leather is really ugly, I thought to add lining. It is as easy to sew it with lining as it is without it. Do you like the assorted straps? It is a little bigger than the previous versions. Now see how hard working I am! I made these in 5 minutes! I would die to have that green in the top right corner! Happy … [Read more...]
Shopping bags
I couldn't imagine that sewing shopping bags is so much fun! I have now one more reason to look for beautiful home decor fabric. And of course, I had to make some bags from quilt weight cotton too. They don't have lining, so you can't use them for things that weight too much. I LOVE them because they don't take much space in a bag. One more bag (out of faux leather) on the … [Read more...]
Quick and Easy Lace zipper Pouch
I used the last two lace zippers! I have to make a new order! Do you remember these quick pouches I made some time ago? Only 30 minutes are needed for one pouch- and that includes the quilting! Sew with a home decor fabric - you don't need interfacing or quilting - and you will finish the pouch in 20 minutes! No fancy zippers? Regular zippers are fine too. Happy … [Read more...]
Sewing gifts for boys
Whenever I have to sew something for boys (and for men too), I am in trouble! These are gifts for my eight year godson and all the ideas came from his mother! I love this small "pocket". His mother explained me he needs something simple and small, to keep the keys, bus tickets and some money. And this was my idea for "simple"! Please ignore the horrible topstitching on the … [Read more...]
A lesson!
So I stitched these beautiful bags. They are made from quilting fabric and Decovil light interfacing. The lining is heavyweight fabric from Ikea. This is one of my older bag pattern, Chantal. I don't like pink but this combination with gingham is irresistible! I spent some time pressing every seam, after each step. And I pressed them again, in the end. I made the best I … [Read more...]
Quick gifts to sew
These are the gifts I should have sewn in May and July! So happy I cut them off the list. I made a simple patchwork for the front of the bag- to ensure delivery before Christmas! I can't make a bag without sewing two assorted pouches - the gift would not be complete! And do you know about the horizontal stripes that make you look fat? This bag looks fat too. I used the same pattern and … [Read more...]
Remembering Paris
September again. With great pleasure I remember September of 2013. One year ago, I and my hubby loaded the car with some stuff and we headed to Paris. Three days on the road and we arrived there. We loved out adventure on the road, we loved Paris, the Mylene Farmer's concerts (and oh, the feeling when I found out that our quilt won an award at Houston) but most of all I loved that all my three … [Read more...]
