I don't like to work with scraps - I don't have enough patience and time. I also don't have space for them and usually I give them to my friends. I like a big piece of fabric I can fold in eight and cut many pieces at once. But sometimes I make exceptions, it was the case with a few small swatches of spandex. I couldn' resist to their colors so I spent some time cutting them.It wasn't hard at all … [Read more...]

Washing Fabrics
In the last few days I organized my fabric stash. My bedroom is my “studio” and because it is so convenient to have the fabrics on hand, I kept some of them there. But now I moved them all.Last summer I became allergic to the chemicals contained by fabrics. How ironic is that: a quilter to have allergy to fabrics! Before this I wasn’t allergic to anything, or, at least, I did not have any sign of … [Read more...]

Pretty Little Purses
Here is my latest project - a few mini-Amelie purses for the little girls of my friends. I thought it will take me much more time to finish them because all are quilted but I managed to sew four in a day. The small size (about 7''x9'') helped me a lot! Which one I love most ? I love, love these fabrics... but this one below is my favorite! I had just a small piece of pink fabric … [Read more...]
New Quilt, New Pattern, New Give Away
Quilting in Romania is sometimes challenging! You can't be bored! I will tell you about some challenges in January. Now I am glad I can finally share this quilt with you. I made it for my sister Nina. I did not plan to make a quilt for her, but I had purple fabric in my stash and since she loves purple, I had to use it. In my family we can't keep secrets too long. I wanted to keep secret … [Read more...]
New Fabric Box
After the pretty little things I made (here and here) for Christmas I just had to make a box, too. I made an octagonal one... and I covered the top edges with organza ruffle trim. Making boxes is addictive! Different colors, different fabric combinations, different shapes and sizes, different edge treatments... Sorry for the bad pictures, my camera doesn't like red color. I hope you … [Read more...]
